How to add a prayer times widget to Google Sites
Click Insert, choose Embed, paste the code on the Embed code tab, then Insert and Publish.
Steps
- Go to sites.google.com, open your site, and select the page you want to edit.
- In the right-hand panel, click Insert.
- Click Embed, then switch to the Embed code tab.
- Paste the embed code into the box. Get your own version, with your coordinates and calculation method already set, from the widget builder.
- Click Next to preview, then Insert.
- Click Publish in the top right to make the change live.
Good to know. This guide is for the current Google Sites at sites.google.com. The older “classic” Google Sites does not have this Embed tool. Google Sites also has no single site-wide footer for custom code, so add the embed to each page where you want it to appear.
This is a generic starting point. Open the widget builder to set your own coordinates, timezone, and calculation method, and to build the Hijri date or Ramadan countdown widget instead.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Does the widget show up in my site's search box?
The widget itself will render normally for visitors, but Google Sites does not index text inside an embedded code block for its own on-site search.
Do I need a Google Workspace account?
No. A personal Google account that can edit the site is enough.
